FALSE TEACHERS
False teachers are one of the most talked about subjects in the bible. Throughout the old and new testament they have been one of the most prevalent problems among Gods people. In the latter days, it will be the tool used most often by God to weed out, and expose the apostate believers in Gods church.
The troubles for the flock came about because the Shepard’s were not feeding the flock, the word of God. Their food was being mixed with leaven, which caused malnutrition among them. We all know the importance of eating a balanced diet to remain healthy. Repentance, remission of sin, judgment, and spiritual discernment are main sources of spiritual growth missing in today’s diet among most churches. These must be necessary ingredients and can not be substituted.
Because the false prophets and teachers, make the people feel at ease in situation were they are headed for disasters, the people usually end up not giving heed to the true word of God or else not searching for the true meaning. They end up feeling comfortable in times when they really need to be pressing ahead on their spiritual path. By some of their reasoning’s about God’s grace, they feel they can cast His law side. As stated in Amos 6:1 “Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come!” These people of the old testament was just like the latter ones in the churches of Asia in the book of Revelations, they had become complacent, tolerant and lack the drive to achieve for God because false teachers had dull their spiritual ears.
In this latter day we will see God’s true preachers and teachers standing strong against this tide of false teachers. As was in the days of old, Jer. 1:8; Ezek. 2:6; 3:9; and in the new Matt. 10:20-22; we will see God’s people standing steadfast and immovable in the faith. Only speaking those things which become sound doctrine, sticking only to God's word as a bases for knowledge and wisdom What the true preachers of God’s word realizes that the false prophets and teachers, just as Satan know God’s words that there are men of old ordained unto this condemnation. These men have learned God’s words and as the dogs they are have returned to the same doctrines of sin that made them sick. Be careful of these, for they will turn and rend you under foot, casting that which is holy to the ground, mainly God’s law. They are very cunning with the word of God, they use it to bring God’s people under bondage by it, Jude 4. It is no small wonder why James warns us to be not many masters (teachers). If one does not possess the respect, the inspiration and authority of the bible, he should quit teaching. It is very dangerous to proceed teaching only what you have heard from others and not experienced for yourself, through God. Whenever God gives you a clear revelation of His word, you should never later change your stance on it. But now days we see ministers wavering in their views going, with whatever is popular. If one is desirous of a teaching position merely for the honor that attaches to the role, and is not genuinely dedicated to acquire new knowledge, he should not be teaching. Also, a teacher needs to have a great church attendance record, be amp to teach, patience, posses discernment, show interest in those who are lost, but able to manage well his time, should not dress provocatively, not addicted to harmful things or substances. Being sincere trying to overcome these practices is something to be applauded, but as stated in the epistle of John, he has to have overcome the wicked one, by his strength and maturity in the gospel. This is why Paul exhorted Timothy not to ordain any novice to the office of elder. He must spend considerable time in study, as to be able to rightly divide the word of truth, with an accurate instruction, interpretation of scripture. Being willing to sacrifice ones own resources into study and prep, may be required. A study of history, geography language, etc. is vital for the well-qualified instructor. Also something to look for in a teacher is he well tempered, know how and when to rebuke people. Whether he allows students to get out of hand and is not easily carried off on a tangent. One of Satan’s chief devices is to waste your time if nothing else works. As Paul told Timothy do not get involved in foolish talk or genealogy, striving about words. Not given to fables, as some fools worry who was Cain’s wife, all such foolish question which are not profitable.
True teachers of God will in these last days be correcting the errors of the misinterpretation of the scriptures that has crept in unawares over the years. The charge to all teaching elders is the same now as was to Timothy in Paul's day. It was to reprove and rebuke the elders that sin. An elder is the only one that can openly rebuke another elder. It is also called the sword of the spirit, and was designed for close up battle, but it has two edges so one has to be very careful because it cuts both sides requiring one to be skilled in the word of God, having spiritual discernment, and a deep love of the saints of God because it has to be done in the spirit of love. This is one weapon of the spirit that the church today does not handle properly. It is to be done with all longsuffering, treating the old men as fathers and with consideration of others unless He falls into the snare of the devil by His all words. It sometimes goes as far as marking those that are causing a division among the saints of God. Paul took it to the point of turning Hymaneaus and Philetus over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the soul may be saved. As subtlety of Satan's "ministers of light" twist the word of God to their own destruction. These errors in mental thinking, is what Satan is trying to capture our young and old people with. This is why the Apostle told us to bring every thought into the captivity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If the enemy can build a stronghold in our mind with erroneous doctrine, He can lead us into deception. The real battle ground is in the transforming of our thoughts and the renewing of our minds. This new creation should be crucifying self on a daily basis, while the false teachers are promoting the world and get all you can get, that the flesh be lacking of nothing and that you should be able to enjoy all the things that the people of the world can enjoy. We should remember that as Paul stated that all things are lawful for us to have but they may not be expedient. We must lay aside every weigh and sin, meaning some things may not be sinful but they can hinder our spiritual life. It was Satan who persuaded Eve, to enjoy all the trees of the garden and not deny herself of anything. Remember let no man deceive you by any means. As the sower went about sowing seed, remember the adversary came behind twisting the word, in the minds of those who just heard the word and did not dig deep to allow the word to penetrate the soil, to be imbedded in their hearts. These are the ones the wicked one snatched the word of God from. Satan will use any device to deceive, (new revelation, misinterpretations of scripture, men of renown [popular or familiar people whom you identify with] gross lies, miracles, healings. This is one must be careful and prayed up, studying the word of God to show ones self approved, a workman that rightly divides the word of true.
